Smeirat Officially Opens Government Services Center in Ajloun
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Smeirat today officially inaugurated the Government Services Center in Ajloun Governorate, in the presence of the Governor of Ajloun, several Members of Parliament from the governorate, and local officials.
The center provides 167 government services from 29 government institutions, offering citizens an integrated service environment where they can complete their transactions in one location. This contributes to simplifying procedures and reducing the time and effort required to access government services.
During a tour of the center’s facilities, Smeirat reviewed the workflow and service delivery mechanisms and met with a number of employees and service recipients. He stressed the importance of maintaining the highest levels of readiness and efficiency and providing high-quality services that meet citizens’ needs and expectations.
Smeirat said that Government Services Centers represent one of the key projects for modernising public services and provide a practical implementation of the objectives of the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap by delivering integrated government services in one location, simplifying procedures, and improving the service recipient experience.
He added that the opening of the Ajloun center is part of the government’s efforts to expand access to services and bring them closer to citizens across the Kingdom. He noted that the Government Services Centers network now includes 16 centers distributed across different governorates, enhancing the equitable distribution of services and reducing the need for citizens to travel between government institutions or to other governorates to complete their transactions.
Smeirat affirmed that the center operates under a modern service delivery model focused on service quality, simplified and integrated procedures, supported by qualified staff and advanced digital systems. This contributes to increasing citizen satisfaction and enhancing the efficiency of government performance.
The center operates with flexible working hours from 9:00 AM to 12:00 midnight daily, allowing citizens to access services at times that better accommodate their different circumstances and commitments, while enhancing accessibility and continuity of service delivery.
The opening of the center comes as part of the implementation of the Executive Programme of the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap and the Economic Modernisation Vision, which aim to develop and improve the efficiency of government services and strengthen a citizen-centred approach to public service delivery.
