The Personal Data Protection Directorate, in cooperation with the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, held an awareness workshop on the Personal Data Protection Law No. (24) Of 2023 on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. During the workshop, the Directorate's team reviewed the aspects and dimensions of the law, including data subject’s rights, the responsibilities of the controller who has custody of the data, and the procedures for complying with the law and the regulations and instructions issued pursuant to it. They also clarified the administrative and judicial penalties that may result from any breach of the provisions of the law. The importance of appointing a personal data protection officer (DPO) within institutions was also emphasized, to ensure the implementation of the law's requirements and to respond to inquiries or challenges related to data protection. This workshop is part of a series of awareness-raising activities implemented by the Personal Data Protection Directorate in cooperation with public and private sector institutions, with the aim of enhancing awareness of the culture of data protection and raising the level of security and compliance in the Jordanian workplace.
