Public Consultations and Surveys

The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) conducted a third round consultation on the Draft law of Personal Data Protection during the period between (17/9/2018 - 17/12/2018). Following this consultation, the Ministry held a number of sectoral workshops during the period (17/2/2019 - 21/2/2019) with several governmental bodies, private sector, civil society organizations, academics and security authorities. The main reason of those workshops was to complete the receipt of observations and comments from all parties on the draft law.

Based on the discussions, the Ministry, in cooperation with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), reviewed all observations and suggestions which had been received during the third round consultation and those received during the sectoral workshops. As a result of this revision the ministry had issued a new draft.

For the importance of this law and expected impact on both citizens and business sector, and based on the principle of transparency, and consultation with partners , the Ministry announces the draft law for a public consultation for a fourth round for one month starting Monday, 15/4/2019, on the Ministry's website.

The Ministry welcomes your comments and suggestions on the amended draft law by e-mail: Lawsconsultation@moict.gov.jo , no later than Thursday, 16/5/2019 at 3:30 pm.
